Are you an educator interested in incorporating practical maker applications into your classroom teaching? This session will provide hands-on experience and guidance on how to bring maker activities to the classroom, giving teachers the tools they need to help students develop their critical thinking, problem-solving, and innovation skills.

Participants will learn about the philosophy of maker education, explore both high-tech and low-tech maker tools and technologies, and engage in practical activities that will help them incorporate maker and STEM education into their lesson plans. Along the way, we’ll also explore effective classroom management when working with maker tools, as well as strategies for organizing your classroom to encourage student collaboration while working on maker projects.

By the end, you’ll walk away with a clear understanding of how to implement maker activities as well as the numerous ways they can enhance the student learning experience. You’ll also return to your district with an assortment of ready-to-use maker activities so that you can begin incorporating maker-centered learning from day one of the new school year.
