The Learning Technology Center is the place for you. We work across the state to develop services, programs, and resources that make a meaningful, lasting impact on K-12 educators and technology professionals, all with the goal of transforming student learning.

Our educator-led team:

  • Leads technology initiatives and services that increase access and meaningful use of technology in all Illinois K-12 schools
  • Develops and supports innovative, relevant, impactful professional learning opportunities and capacity-building programs
  • Promotes research-based uses of technology that enhance learning outcomes for all students

Salaries are regionally competitive. Employees are enrolled in either TRS or IMRF pension systems, and the LTC pays 100% of the employee’s contribution to TRS and 96% to IMRF.

Where We Work

A statewide team

The Learning Technology Center is a program of the Illinois State Board of Education, supporting Illinois K-12 schools since 1995.

Our team works across Illinois. The LTC divides the state into five regions (North, East Central, West Central, South, and Chicagoland), and each region is supported by a Regional Educational Technology Coordinator who provides direct consulting, professional development, and technology support to districts.

  • IETC, Illinois’ statewide edtech conference in Springfield
  • SecurED Schools, an online K-12 cybersecurity and data privacy conference
  • SummIT, a collaborative conference for K-12 IT staff
  • Hi, AI!, a virtual conference on how AI is changing schools
