Our Creative Coding feature, in partnership with Vidcode, takes a project-based approach to the teaching of coding.
It gives students a way to show what they know about a given topic – regardless of curriculum area – by coding their own projects using BrainPOP assets. We introduced the feature with four project types – Meme, Stop Motion Animation, Doodle Augmented Reality, and Newscast – with more to follow. Creative Coding was designed so that students and teachers of all subjects, even with little or no coding experience, can jump right into a scaffolded project.
CK-12 is an excellent Open Educational Resource (OER) that is free and easy to use. Digital resources include PLIX interactives and simulations, adaptive practices, study guides, and FlexBook digital textbooks. CK-12 FlexBooks are complete online platforms for assembling, authoring, and distributing standards-aligned, interactive, multi-modal educational content.
Connect Safely resoures support the safe and responsible use of technology resources at all grade levels and includes printable guides on a wide variety of specific and special topics related to technology use in classroom and home environments.
