Navigating the Digital Seas our Students & Children Explore

Thu. May 16, 2024 | 8:30 am - 10:00 am CDT

Out in the digital seas, our students and children are currently sailing through pretty choppy waters. Amid the rigors of digital learning and the lingering impacts of the pandemic, many young people are under an unprecedented amount of mental pressure. Even the typical challenges of youth and adolescence are magnified online, making it that much harder to find a safe harbor and avoid an academic or personal crisis.

How can educators and guardians effectively address some of these stressors? And what role can technology play in supplying that relief?

Join us as we chart technology’s profound impact on today’s students and their developing brains. On this voyage, we’ll explore how digital media, social media, computer literacy, and AI all intersect with daily life for today’s youth. Along the way, we’ll also uncover how digital stressors contribute to negative mental health and discuss strategies for supporting our children’s mental wellness – even as they are raised in an era vastly different from the one we grew up in.
