Google Docs Basics

Google Docs is a free online word processing tool that can be used by almost anyone. With it, you can bring the world of digital writing, task management, and organization to life in your classroom using Docs numerous user-friendly features and tools.

No matter what grade level or subject you teach, Docs can be an invaluable ally in helping your students brainstorm, organize, and communicate their thoughts.

Interested in bringing out Docs’ full potential? This course will take you step-by-step through Docs basic features and settings, showing you best practices for utilizing each in an education setting. Along the way, you’ll also discover how Docs fosters collaboration and integrates with numerous other Google tools, making it easy to transfer your students’ writing to another app with just a click.

During this course, participants will learn how to:

  • Create and format Google Docs
  • Insert media to enhance Google Docs
  • Collaborate with students and colleagues within Google Docs

Participants in the course can earn 0.75 PD Credits toward Illinois license renewal.
