Relationships 101: How to Build Relationships with Everyone in Your Building

As a second year counselor, I know just how important it is to build relationships with students. It is the foundation in which my career exists! But what if I told you that building relationships with your staff is just as important? My diverse background and non-conventional path to being a school counselor has taught me a LOT about relationship building and what my impact potential can be. I started as a paraprofessional, worked my way up to school secretary, and now I am a school counselor in a building that didn’t have one prior to me. It is now my passion to show others just how far they can reach in their own building, and how it ties in to the well-being, climate, and culture of a building.
