Learn how to incorporate physical computing into your STEM projects using the micro:bit. This low cost and easy to use microcontroller can be used to develop understanding of programming through creative digital projects. In this session, you will learn how to get started with the micro:bit and how it can fit into STEM activities at any age level. Explore the built-in interface and sensors using Microsoft MakeCode and then learn how to add external sensors, lights and motors. Topics include how to setup the device, apply outside inputs and outputs, design circuits in Tinkercad, and develop maker projects. See how using the micro:bit can help students make connections between coding and real world applications. Best practices for student projects will be discussed as well.
