Learn by playing? Of course! Today’s students are inundated with games in the form of apps. How can we compete? In an educational environment, gamification aims to improve the learning process through the dynamics of a game. Internalizing content and increasing student participation is possible by using reward systems, accumulation of points, rankings, missions, and challenges‚Äîlike the games they are exposed to daily! Using traditional board games as the backbone of gamification, Mrs. Grady will explore how to create game rules, goals, and successful challenges. Mrs. Grady will share resources and examples of games created from board games for her K-4 Technology classes for participants to take back to their classrooms.
