This session is specifically designed for teachers who are NOT musically inclined! Have you ever seen the Flocabulary Lyric Lab? My students love it, and you can actually DIY the experience on your own without paying for a costly subscription. All you need to have students write and record their own songs is a backing track and some student-generated lyrics! Students can write and perform their own original songs as an alternative to traditional presentations, book reports, research projects, to demonstrate understanding of curricular concepts. There are several tools that you can use to achieve this (such as WeVideo on a Chromebook, or Garageband on an iOS device), so let’s take a look at HOW you can structure and implement this engaging project with your own students. Final projects can be saved and submitted as audio-only files, or paired with video content to create fun DIY music videos!
