ISBE’s Computer Science Courses and Assignability Recommendations

A list developed by the Illinois State Board of Education with courses designated as computer science courses that will satisfy the statutory requirement for all districts to offer at least one computer science course for grades 9-12 beginning with the 2023-2024 school year. Every high school student must have the opportunity to take at least one computer science course that is aligned to rigorous learning standards
of the State Board of Education in accordance with PA 101-0654, which requires ISBE to develop a list of existing course titles
that are recommended for computer science.
