Are you ready to start or makeover a makerspace at your school, but unsure where to begin? Held at the Innovation Center at Lake Land College in the Effingham Technology Center building, this hands-on workshop takes place inside an active makerspace featuring 3D printers, zSpace, AR/VR, and more.

Rather than a one-size-fits-all approach, you’ll receive a structured protocol and a practical planning guide to design a high-utility space tailored specifically to your students’ needs. Learn essential do’s and don’ts, collaborate with fellow educators, and experience live tech demos firsthand.

You’ll leave with the tools, strategy, and confidence needed to select technology that gets used and build a space that drives meaningful, impactful learning.

This training will be held on September 29, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Innovation Center at Lake Land College in the Effingham Technology Center. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. This event is FREE to attend and each participant will receive a $75 stipend, a take-home kit of goodies worth $90 and lunch will be provided. Upon completion of the training each participant will receive 5.0 PD hours.
