The Illinois Student Invention Convention is a transdisciplinary K–8 program that engages students in hands-on, real-world problem-solving and phenomenon-based learning. It empowers youth to take ownership of their learning while building skills in problem identification, innovation, entrepreneurship, and creative thinking. Along the way, students develop confidence, resilience, and leadership—preparing them to become the next generation of innovators.

Using a free, standards-aligned curriculum, students follow a seven-step innovation process: identifying a meaningful problem, developing and testing solutions, and ultimately creating a working prototype. Those interested can showcase their inventions in state and national competitions. Training for educators is available throughout the year. Once you’ve attended a training, you gain access to the curriculum and resources available to bring this program to your students!

Join us to learn more about the Illinois Student Invention Convention and empower your students to become their own problem-solvers and inventors!
