It’s the Teach, Not the Tech

Thu. July 23, 2026 | 9:00 am - 11:30 am CDT

This session cuts through the hype of educational technology to focus on research-backed strategies that truly drive student learning. Participants will explore the impact of EdTech through the lens of Hattie’s meta-analysis, examining which technologies and teaching practices yield the greatest positive effect. Moving beyond theory, the session provides practical tools and examples for effective technology integration, emphasizing active learning strategies like jigsaw activities, classroom discussions, and project-based learning. Participants will discover how to align technology with core teaching practices and digital literacy skills, ensuring it serves to amplify teaching and maximize student success with tools like the Google Suite, Canva, and AI.
