Making with a Purpose: a Makerspace Playground

Tue. March 10, 2026 | 9:00 am - 3:00 pm CDT

Build a purposeful makerspace that sparks student innovation! In this hands-on workshop you’ll gain practical experience in 3D printing with Bambu and Prusa, vinyl cutting with Cricut, creative coding with Microbit and Sphero, game design with Makey Makey, and more! Learn by doing, and explore ways to bring these technologies to your students with authentic and engaging project ideas. We’ll also explore a guiding document with a structured protocol for planning, stocking, and managing a makerspace that perfectly fits your school’s needs. We’ll explore essential tips and tricks for makerspace design, and you’ll collaborate with other educators to plan your space from start to finish.

Please bring a laptop on which you can install software and connect devices via USB. Join us to create a space that fosters creativity and innovation for years to come.
