Code.org CS Discoveries

In this track, participants will learn about and practice strategies for implementing Code.org’s CS Discoveries curriculum. Participants will walk away full prepared to teach the curriculum throughout the following symester, during which time they will participate in follow-up workshops to assess their implementation progress and provide just-in-time support.

About this Course

CS Discoveries is an introductory computer science course for grade 6-10 students. Mapped to the CTSA standards, this course takes a wide lens on computer science by covering topics such as problem solving, programming, physical computing, user centered design, and data, while inspiring students as they build their own websites, apps, animations, games, and physical computing systems.

CS Discoveries can be flexibly taught as a single semester, two semesters over multiple years, or as a full-year course. Options are even available for less than one semester.

This curriculum is available at no cost for anyone, anywhere to teach. In Illinois, this curriculum can be offered as:
