Digital citizenship instruction in schools frequently appears as safety quizzes and reminders to “Be Kind Online”, but students need to be prepared to make digital decisions at 10:00pm when they are tired, frustrated, seeking peer approval, or without direct adult guidance.

Why do students make the choices they do online? We’ll explore the human needs and platform design behind their behavior, then show you how to prepare them using the lessons you already teach. No separate SEL curriculum or canned activities required. You’ll leave able to:

  • Identify what drives student digital behavior
  • Add purposeful digital citizenship prompts to your existing lessons
  • Prepare students to make responsible decisions outside the classroom

Illinois educators who register here and attend live through Streamyard can earn 1.0 PD credit.
