About Lisa Schwartz

Lisa Schwartz (she/her) serves as the LTC’s Regional Educational Technology Coordinator for west central Illinois. Lisa is passionate about meaningful professional development and creating teacher and student leaders. She facilitates professional learning events regionally and statewide; provides consultation and support to school districts related to digital learning and technology integration; and develops instructional materials for school administrators, teachers, and students throughout the west central region.

Prior to joining the LTC, Lisa was an educator in Quincy Public Schools. Today, she remains committed to serving the same educators she worked beside by fostering impactful professional growth and nurturing teacher and student leadership.

Lisa is a certified teacher, a Google for Education Certified Trainer, a Google Certified Educator, and an Apple Education Trainer. She holds a Master of Arts in Educational Administration from Quincy University and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Western Illinois University.

An Educator’s Guide to Canva

This hands-on session will guide you through using Canva’s templates presentation tool, the whiteboard, and docs for lesson plans and student collaboration. Through group discussions and activities, we will explore Canva’s Magic Studio tools like Magic Write, Design, Edit, and Eraser to help you effortlessly generate creative text, design captivating visuals, and enhance images.

Tinkercad & Other Tech Tools to Engage Students with STEM Concepts

Teachers (4th-12th grade) will explore how to incorporate Tinkercad into the math, science, or computer classroom. Teachers will design their own object with TinkerCad which will be printed using a 3D printer. Teachers will learn about Spheros and also discover free tech tools (pattern blocks, sweethome3d, flipanim, Phet.Colorado.EDU, Physlets.org/tracker, GIS, Desmos) that add in the teaching, learning, and application of STEM topics.
