Early elementary is the perfect time to start introducing students to computer science concepts – many people would be surprised at how easily they cross over into subject areas and units already being taught in the classroom. In this session, ways that you can bring coding and computer science into your class will be explored and shared through the stories of what has (and has not!) worked for me as a former K-5 librarian/makerspace teacher and current PreK-8 instructional technology coach in my experiences working with littles. From read-alouds to robots, both analog and digital options for bringing coding and computer science into your classroom will spark your creative brain and inspire you to do some of these projects with your own students!
