SUMMARY:AA #4231: Artificial Intelligence (AI) Literacy
DESCRIPTION:As artificial intelligence (AI) rapidly transforms teaching and learning\, educational leaders must guide the responsible integration of AI tools\, ensure staff readiness\, and establish clear policies aligned with ethical and instructional best practices. This course introduces frameworks and real-world examples to help principals\, assistant principals\, and department chairs build systemic AI literacy across schools. Participants will explore national and international AI guidance\, review instructional use cases\, and analyze local policy exemplars. Through collaborative planning and guided reflection\, leaders will evaluate their own school or district's AI readiness\, address common risks and misconceptions\, and develop an AI Literacy Action Plan tailored to their instructional and operational context. The course prepares school leaders to make informed decisions around AI that support student learning\, staff development\, and community trust.

SUMMARY:AI Governance for K-12 Leaders: From AI Experimentation to Responsible Adoption
DESCRIPTION:AI is already entering school districts through instruction\, operations\, communications\, and purchased products — often without being labeled an AI decision. The leadership question is no longer whether AI will be used\, but where\, when\, and under what conditions its use is appropriate. \n  \nThis practical\, vendor-agnostic session gives board members and district leaders a framework for governing AI responsibly. Participants will examine why policy alone is not governance\, how national guidance from CoSN and ISTE is converging on a common set of leadership responsibilities\, and how to ground local rules in durable principles. \n  \nThe session then moves from principle to practice: three governance models scaled to district capacity\, a five-lens decision framework for evaluating any proposed AI use\, proportionate oversight tiers\, clear ownership across leadership functions\, and a five-stage adoption roadmap. \n  \nLeaders leave with three commitments — know what is in use\, define responsible use\, and act through a repeatable process — and one concrete next decision to bring back to their district.

DESCRIPTION:Don’t ban AI—teach it! It’s time to shift the classroom culture from policing AI misuse to superpowering student learning. This interactive workshop tackles the ultimate question: How do we get students to think with AI instead of surrendering their thinking to it? We will explore how to position AI as a "co-pilot" for deeper critical thinking\, problem-solving\, and creative iteration rather than an autopilot for easy answers. SUMMARY:Beyond the Blocklist: from Web Filtering to Phishing Protection in K–12
DESCRIPTION:Before you renew your web filter\, let’s take a broader look at what you need to protect your district in 2027. \nFrom the websites students visit to the emails staff receive\, and the apps connected to school accounts\, protecting your district’s digital learning environment takes more than a blocklist. Your tools need to support safe access\, give teachers flexibility\, and help IT identify and respond to threats without adding hours of work. \nJoin ManagedMethods to explore a more complete approach to K–12 cybersecurity and student safety. We’ll connect everyday web filtering needs with the risks inside Google Workspace and Microsoft 365\, including phishing\, suspicious account activity\, sensitive data exposure\, and risky third-party apps. \nThrough practical examples and short demonstrations of Content Filter and Cloud Monitor\, you’ll see how complementary layers of protection help your team gain visibility\, simplify investigations\, and act fast. Leave with a clearer framework for evaluating your current tools and prioritizing your 2027 investments. \nThis session is designed to help you think strategically\, spend wisely\, and move into the 2027 planning season with confidence. \nWhat you’ll learn \n\nWhat to evaluate beyond website blocking before your next renewal.\nHow to support safer browsing while giving teachers flexibility for instruction.\nWhere Google/Microsoft account activity\, data sharing\, and third-party apps create risks that need additional visibility.\nHow Cloud Monitor and its Email Threat Intelligence add-on help teams investigate phishing threats.\nHow to weigh protection\, usability\, support\, and staff time in your 2027 buying decisions.

SUMMARY:[Technical Tips] From Pilot to Production: A Technical Playbook for Deploying Gemini for Education Across Your Domain
DESCRIPTION:Most districts have moved past “should we turn on Gemini?” and into the harder question. How do you actually deploy it well? This session is a Console-first walk through the lifecycle of a Gemini for Education rollout: turning on Gemini as a Core Service by OU and group\, configuring age-based access for under-18 users\, layering NotebookLM and Gemini in the side panel of Workspace apps\, and auditing the data governance posture that travels with each. We’ll cover the difference between Gemini for Education (Standard) and the additional Gemini app entitlements in Education Plus\, how to manage allowlists and disable specific features for pilot groups\, and what shows up in audit logs once usage scales. You’ll leave with a deployment blueprint that protects district data while giving teachers and students a real\, supported AI experience.
