Re-engaging Students with Transferable Teaching & Learning Practices

Wed. September 7, 2022 | 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm CDT

How can we reliably engage students? How can we keep students interested and focused on learning tasks and projects? It all starts with agency and ownership.

During this webinar, we’ll explore practical ways to increase student engagement and ownership of their learning through using the HQPBL (Project Based Learning) framework. This framework’s core elements – Collaboration, Project Management, and Reflection – can be applied at any K-12 grade level, in any content area, and to most every teaching practice, making them must-haves in any educator’s teaching toolkit.

After this webinar, participants will:
1. Become aware of the HQPBL Framework’s elements as one possible use case related to the transferable teaching and learning practices and how they connectLTC with engaging learners by promoting ownership of their learning.
2. Be exposed to a set of educational protocols that can be used to promote equity of participation in any grade and subject, develop a set of transferable student success skills, and increase engagement. A list of these protocols will be shared with participants.
3. Share their own practices with one another in a living resource that will be an ongoing resource to use after the session is over.

Illinois educators who attend live can earn 1.0 PD credit.
