Media Literacy & Digital Tattoos: Growing Up in a Digital Age

Tue. November 29, 2022 | 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm CST

In today’s world, students are continuously exposed to media, both at home and at school. This continuous media diet can expose students to a world of misinformation and make it difficult for them to differentiate between trustworthy and untrustworthy sources. With the passage of HB 234, Illinois high school students will soon learn how to spot trustworthy online sources as part of their curriculum. But is that everything today’s students need to be successful digital citizens after graduation?

Learning to spot fake news and untrustworthy sources is only one element of media literacy. Join us for this workshop to learn about the rest, as well as discover best practices for teaching media literacy to all students.*

*This workshop’s content is applicable to all grade levels. All K-12 educators who are new to teaching media literacy are invited to take part.
