Implementing the Computer Literacy Guidelines

Tue. October 24, 2023 | 8:30 am - 11:30 am CDT

ISBE has developed and released new computer literacy guidelines for use in all Illinois K-12 schools. In this workshop, we’ll explore what computer literacy is, ISBE’s K-12 Computer Literacy Knowledge and Skill Continuum, and how you can bring computer literacy into your classrooms while meeting these new teaching requirements.

Along the way, we will unpack the guidelines, conduct a self-assessment to identify gaps in knowledge, and begin to align your district’s exciting resources and tools to the guidelines for each grade level.

This session is great for administrators planning to implement the guidelines, tech directors and coaches helping teachers integrate specific computer literacy resources, and educators responsible for teaching the standards. No matter your role, you’ll walk away with a solid plan for ensuring your students are equitably prepared to work in every digital environment, both in the classroom and beyond.

All attendees must bring a laptop or Chromebook to fully participate in this workshop.
