As more and more learning goes digital, the need for accessible educational materials (AEM) increases. AEM includes any printed and electronic materials that are designed or enhanced to make them usable by a wide range of learners, regardless of differences in physical or cognitive ability. Providing AEM does not change the content, only the way it is presented to the student.
Providing AEM is imperative to the independence and success of today’s students with disabilities. This webinar will provide a brief overview of AEM, as well as a review of built-in accessibility features, accessibility checkers, and accessible materials such as text, audio, and video. Come learn how to create content that meets the needs of all students with an expert on learning accessibility!
After this webinar, participants will be able to: 1. Define AEM and list the legal requirements associated with its use 2. Create accessible materials such as text, audio, and video 3. List three features of an everyday technology that can support AEM
