Bringing Creativity to Life: Integrating Soundtrap in the Classroom

Fri. June 16, 2023 | 9:00 am - 2:00 pm CDT

In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn how to use Soundtrap to bring creativity to life in the classroom. Soundtrap is a powerful, cloud-based digital audio workstation that allows students to create podcasts, digital stories, and music.

Through breakout sessions, participants will explore the tools and features of Soundtrap, including recording, editing, and mixing audio tracks. Participants will also learn how to integrate Soundtrap into their curriculum and use it to inspire creativity and amplify student voice.

The workshop will also include a tour of Oak Park River Forest High School’s makerspace, where participants can explore additional resources for creating rather than simply consuming.

Throughout the workshop, an emphasis will be placed on inspiring creativity and empowering students to express themselves through podcasting, digital storytelling, and music-creation. Participants will leave with practical activities and resources for engaging students in meaningful projects that center the potential of sound in the creative process.

Whether you’re a teacher, administrator, or instructional coach, this workshop is perfect for anyone looking to enhance their students’ learning experiences and bring creativity to life in the classroom.
