While there are plenty of cyber threats facing today’s schools, few pose the omnipresent danger of phishing. One wrong click from an unsuspecting end user and your entire district’s network could be opened to malicious activity. There’s a lot you can do to mitigate these intrusions after they occur, but stopping them before they start might be the wisest course of action for your district’s long-term cybersecurity strategy.
That’s why on this week’s Be Connected, we’re zooming in on best practices for teaching your district staff how to avoid phishing scams. Host Eric Muckensturm will outline several readily-available training opportunities as well as highlight the types of campaigns you can run to keep your district’s staff on alert for legitimate phishing attempts.
Be Connected is a weekly webinar series from the LTC focused on facilitating open discussions about pertinent topics within Illinois’ edtech community. Hosted by the LTC’s Chris Wherley and/or Eric Muckensturm each session will focus on a specific topic and provide space for participants to ask and answer questions in a relaxed, supportive environment.
Each week will feature a different core topic and a fresh opportunity to connect with your peers. So, be sure to check the LTC events calendar routinely so that you can join in the discussion and Be Connected.
